Students’ reading comprehension and, more importantly, their understanding of the world around them, are supported by a foundation of knowledge. This session will support educators as they use close reading of content-rich texts to build knowledge along with decoding and other language comprehension skills. Participants will walk away with practical, classroom-ready ideas for using reading experiences to deepen thinking and connect readers to the world.
