A03 | Giving Grace and Building Empathy in Ourselves and Others LIMITED
Friday February 14, 2025 8:30am - 9:45am CST
In this training, staff will be invited to reflect on their current states, and what they are doing to ensure their own regulation. We will acknowledge the reality of stress and be reminded to build empathy for ourselves and for those we serve. We will explore what can impact our ability to be regulated and present. We will address the importance of working collaboratively and collectively together. Because we’re in a service-oriented profession and continuously look outward to help others, we’ll turn our lenses around to build self-awareness and embrace the concept of grace as we collaboratively build a Culture of Safety for our youth, families, staffs, and communities. If we’re going to be good to others, first and foremost we’ve got to be good to ourselves. This session is rich with strategies and approaches to do just that…so we can foster resilient learners.

Friday February 14, 2025 1:15pm - 2:30pm CST
Learning about Restorative Practices is important, but experiencing them firsthand is transformative. The impact of proactive community building Restorative Practices work is powerful, impactful, and accessible to all educators. Successfully supporting youth needs means first supporting adults' needs. We all want to move quickly to directly supporting youth, yet slowing down enough to take care of ourselves, our staff, and one another will increase our overall impact. Join us in experiencing the work internally before bringing it to students in the classroom. It’s heart work, and it’s hard work… and it starts with Us.
